Undercroft

To date, we have spent $2,013,000 of our $2.3m in pledges and one-time donations.  During this process, we did not borrow money; only started work on projects when we had cash in hand.

Campaign Development, Building Studies and other design fees - $160k

School Foundation Work  — $82k
We excavated the entire front lawn to repair the foundation and fix any leaks present.

Classroom Improvements — $390k
Every classroom in the building has been upgraded in some way.  All classrooms received new LED lights, fresh paint, and classroom furniture. Storage was added to the Elementary classrooms.  A new preschool room and bathrooms were created.  A handicapped bathroom was added by the gym.   By 2023, all classrooms have new flooring – either commercial vinyl or carpet.

Classroom Technology — $52k
The network infrastructure of the school was upgraded to allow for Wi-Fi devices in every classroom.  Chromebooks for every student K-8.  Interactive Clevertouch Boards in classrooms.

Cafeteria Improvements — $57k
The cafeteria received a much-needed facelift.  Much of the work was done in-house.  New flooring, removed the carpet on the walls, new ceiling, new LED lights and all new HVAC.

Classroom HVAC — $430k
Replaced all of the existing window air conditioning units and faulty wall radiators with Daikin heating and air-conditioning units in every classroom with fresh air intake in every room. 

Demo the Activity Center building — $262k
After conducting surveys of the facilities, it was discovered that the Activity Center building and daycare building were in a state of severe disrepair that would require multiple millions of dollars to bring up to the current expectations and code. As a result, both buildings were torn down to provide the necessary parking.

Church Airconditioning — $130k
Replaced the failing Airconditioning system with a new, energy-efficient system.

Church Masonry Work — $66k
The church's entire façade underwent tuckpointing and inspection for any issues, followed by a thorough cleaning of the front of the building to remove more than 50 years of accumulated dirt.

524 South Fort Thomas Ave Purchase — $158k
In May 2022, the house located adjacent to the church and the undercroft entrance became available for purchase. With the Finance Council's approval, the purchase was made using Capital Campaign funds. The house was subsequently renamed Saint Thomas Annex and has since been used for many meetings and small groups. This acquisition has provided a path to the undercroft.

Renovation of the Rectory & Parish Offices — $71k
The Parish Offices received a much-needed renovation to allow for clear differentiation between the private priest residence and public office space.  A 1st floor conference room was created, as well as a new handicapped restroom.  The lower-level conference room and youth room also have received updates.

Undercroft Parking Lot — $155k
The area between the Annex House and the Church has been prepared as a parking lot with ease of access for mobility-impaired parishioners. This also makes access for deliveries.
